April 7, 1916: “Cliff Abrams, of the Abrams Bros'. Sawmill company whose mill is located on Brush Creek about a mile south of Crawfordsville was a Brownsville visitor Tuesday. August 2, 1917: "The Abrams brothers' sawmill at Crawfordsville was totally destroyed by fire last Thursday night. Loss estimated at $5000. There was no insurance. The lumber stacked in the yard was all that could be saved by the volunteer fire department." (Halsey Enterprise)
