November 15, 1922: "The Moon Lumber company, of Hilt, Calif., expect to open up a lumber camp on the Green Springs mountain road near the junction of Keene and Jenny creeks within the next few days. The camp will be i
located about a mile this side of Pinehurst and a mill will be installed near that point to saw up the timber which will later be hauled to Ashland for shipment. From eight to ten men will be employed during the winter and several teams of horses will be kept busy bringing the logs to the mill site. By spring, some 30 or 40 men will be engaged in the work." December 20, 1922: "Howard Howard, of this city, has been given the contract of felling timber for the Moon Lumber company's new mill on the Green Springs road and will start with the work in a short time." (Ashland Weekly Tidings)

January 8, 1927: "Jack Monroe, who formerly resided in Klamath Falls and held the position of superintendent of the Shasta View Lumber company, was painfully injured when a tree fell on him fracturing a shoulder. Monroe was with the Moon Lumber company near Pinehurst when he was injured." (The Klamath News)
