May 24, 1928: "L. J. Miller made a hurried trip to Triangle lake Sunday to notify the Johnson brothers of a fire which was about to destroy their sawmill. The fire started from the incinerator." (Morning Register)
June 27, 1950: "Harley C. Leach, 58-year-old Blachly sawmill worker died late Monday afternoon at the Ed Johnson Lumber Co. sawmill, three miles west of Blachly, but the Lane County Coroner's office said Monday night an autopsy would have to be performed to determine the cause of death.
The Coroner's office said Leach, a pondman, fell into the mill pond late Monday afternoon, managed to pull himself up on a log and again fell into the pond. Artificial respiration for some 45 minutes failed to revive the man, the coroner reported." (Eugene Register-Guard)
