DUFUR LUMBER COMPANY
Dufur
August 29, 1918: “The planing mill and box factory of the Dufur Lumber company were destroyed by fire at Dufur Sunday. A warehouse containing lumber and lumber piled in the yard adjoining the mill also was destroyed, as was the residence of Conrad Blien, located in the same block with the mill. Mr. Blien is manager of the plant, which was owned locally. There was no insurance on the mill or lumber and the loss of them is about $5000. Mr. Blien's house was partially insured.” (The Forest Grove Express)
