September 29, 1922: “The Beaver logging Co. and the Koster Product Co. have started work just north of Vernonia. The two companies will employ probably 300 people. Two very important assets to Vernonia.” (Vernonia Eagle)
October 6, 1922: “Beaver Logging Co. is installing a camp on Beaver Creek tributary to the line of the Portland, Astoria & Pacific. Peter Connacher, of the Clarke County Timber Co., Portland, is interested in the Beaver Logging Co. Camp houses are being installed, equipment assembled, and preparations are in progress for active operations early next year. Some falling and bucking is being done.---The Timberman.” (Vernonia Eagle)
April 6, 1923: “Beaver Logging Co. is building a new railroad, across the county road, to bring logs to their mill. A hundred men are employed at this camp, and a larger crew to be added.” (Vernonia Eagle)
