December 29, 1920: "Wilbur and Ernest Hyland, of the Lost Valley Lumber company, of Dexter, were in the city yesterday." (Morning Register)
April 16, 1921: "Suit was filed in circuit court this morning by the State Industrial Accident commission against five Lane county lumber companies for funds alleged due under workman's compensation laws. Writs of attachment were entered in three cases, one of which is the Lost Valley Lumber company.
The Lost Valley Lumber company is said to owe $1,219,32, according to the complaint.

May 6, 1921: "Jack Harvey and A. C. Borthick, former employes of the Lost Valley Lumber company which is closed by order of the state industrial accident commission, have filed liens against the logs and lumber of the plant at Lowell. Yesterday five liens were filed by other employes." (The Eugene Guard)
May 28, 1921: "A voluntary petition in bankruptcy was filing this morning in the federal court by the Lost Valley Lumber company of Eugene. Liabilities total $39,072.49, of which about $2500 is for wages. Assets are given as $59,683.27, of which about $25,000 is in real estate and a similar amount in machinery. Ernest E. Notice is hereby given that on the 28 day of May, A. D., 1921, Lost Valley Lumber Company of Eugene, Oregon, the bankrupt above named, was duly adjudicated: and that the first meeting of its creditors will be held at the office of Jesse G. Wells, Attorney at Law, Eugene, Oregon, on the 22 day of June, 1921, at 1:30 p. m., at which time said creditors may attend, prove their claims, appoint a trustee, examine the bankrupt and transact such other business as may properly come before said meeting.
Claims must be presented in form required by the Bankruptcy Act, and sworn to.
The schedule filed discloses assets.
