McKENNA LUMBER COMPANY
Coos County - Bay City
December 27, 1928: "The McKenna Lumber company, capitalization $100,000, will operate on South slough near North Bend. The district will require about three miles of logging railroad and part of it will be built over flats which require piling for track foundations." (Halsey Enterprise)
July 30, 1942: "The McKenna Lumber company mill at Bay City, closed on July 14, was in operation again today following settlement of a vacation pay dispute.
J. E. Hedrick, national labor relations board field examiner, said the men had agreed to forego vacations but would receive vacation pay.
Workers said their plant committee's attempts at negotiation were rejected, so all joined the committee. Hedrick said he would ask the NLRB for a ruling on the committee-of-the-whole procedure." (Herald and News)
