July 22, 1966: "The Mid-Ply company, between Lebanon and Sweet Home on Highway 20 shut down and laid off 65 employes this week, it was announced Thursday.
Mill owner Vernon Geil said a slow down in residential construction due to tight money was the reason.
It was the third cut back in plywood production in the area in a week. Earlier plants at Albany and Springfield laid off workers." (Herald and News)
