SMITH & ROUP
July 23, 1910: "C. C. Roup of the saw mill firm of Smith & Roup, north of Wallowa, arrived in Enterprise Wednesday morning. The day before he had met with a painful accident while at work in the sawmill, suffering the mutilation of the index and middle fingers of the left hand. The hand was drawn into a saw and though the fingers were terribly mangled Mr. Roup's doctor thinks they can be saved." (Enterprise News-Record)
