Kimball Brothers bid $47.55 on the fir and appraised prices on 400,000 feet of cedar and 900,000 feet of hemlock for a total bid price of $491,675.
The appraised price for the fir was $31.35, for cedar $6.65, and for hemlock $4.45. Five other firms entered bids.
Kimball Brothers will need to build about four miles of road to reach the timber." (Register-Guard)
