August 10, 1918: "Fire, believed caused by explosion of an air tight stove, yesterday morning shortly after six o'clock, destroying the commissary building and office of the Kirk Lumber company at Kirk, 40 miles north of the city, according to H.L. Swift of that concern, who came in last evening. The loss is estimated at about $1000. A considerable amount of groceries and supplies were lost. The fire occurred while the men were all at breakfast." (The Evening Herald)
April 24, 1920: "Chiloquin--Kirk Lumber Co., incorporated; capital, $20,000." (American Lumberman)
May 3, 1920: "Articles of incorporation were filed with the county clerk by the Kirk Lumber company. The incorporators are W. C. Can Emon, Fred Dunbar and H. C. Merryman. The capitalization is $20,000 and the place of business is Chiloquin." (Ashland Daily Tidings)

November 26, 1921: "About September 25th from Government Mill, one Iron Grey Dappled gelding, fifteen hundred, 7 years, no brand. When let, small scar on rump, gentle broke, last heard of about Oct. 1st, at Edwin Wilson ranch, south of Chiloquin. Anyone knowing his whereabouts please notify Kirk Lumber company, Kirkwood Oregon." (The Evening Herald)
