July 16, 1942: "It has been reported to us that Chaney, a large lumber company of Washington, Oregon and California, have leased a loading dock on the southwest side of the Southern Pacific highway crossing in Central Point, also that the same company is negotiating for a planer mill in Medford. A number of loads of ties from a tie mill are already stacked on this dock." (The Central Point American)
