COGAN LUMBER COMPANY
Jackson County - Old Greensprings Mountain Road
February 11, 1927: "E. G. Davis called Monday. Mr. Davis lives on the old county road of Green Springs mountain, and he says that his is the only car out; that the road is no good---in fact no road at all. He also informed us that the Cogan Lumber company had started falling timber this morning for their Green Springs mountain mill and everybody was working." (Ashland American)
May 6, 1927: "Lumber trucks are busy almost night and day hauling lumber from Cogan's mill on the Greenspring mountain. (I want to explain here that this is the real Greenspring and not the one on Klamath highway. Most every one thinks this is on the Klamath highway but it is not. It's on the old road to Klamath Falls. If you can put that in some way I wish you would.) Editors note: The correspondent describes the Green Springs road location so well that we run it as written. We agree with our efficient correspondent that more people should know these two roads." (Ashland American)
