FRANKLIN BROTHERS
Siletz
July 26, 1918: "The sawmill recently bought by the Franklin brothers will run a night shift in a short time, and the mill will be kept running day and night at its full capacity, which will cut 25,000 feet per day. This will make about 50,000 feet for the day and night run. Fifty-four soldiers from Newport came up Sunday to help run the mill. They are a fine husky bunch of boys. After a week or two of work under a competent foreman, they get along alright. They are used to work at home." (Lincoln County Leader)
