October 4, 1900: "Winton Hughes and William Dodson were here from Cedarville last week. Mr. Hughes brought over a load of fine honey from his own apiary, which he disposed of readily. On his return trip he took back a load of cut lumber for beehives, purchased at the Hawkins & Rinehart mill." (Lake County Examiner)

November 12, 1903: "Thos. Anders, who has been working at the Hawkins & Rhinehart sawmill for some time, started Tuesday for Banner, Neb., on a visit to his old home." (Lake County Examiner)
July 19, 1906: "The Rinehart & Hawkins sawmill has been moved to the new setting on Camp Creek, and the engine was taken out a few days ago. The new firm will be ready for making lumber in a short time." (Lake County Examiner)
June 27, 1907: "George Down, while trying to take a piece of slab away from the saw in the sawdust pit at the Rinehart sawmill has his left hand severely cut last Monday evening. He was brought to town and Drs. Daly and Hall dressed the wound, amputating the three first fingers at he hand. This is a severe stroke of misfortune for George; he is a young man, hard working and industrious." (Lake County Examiner)
November 21, 1907: "August Zattlin, who has been employed at the Rhinehart sawmill the past summer, had the misfortune Monday to get his leg broke, it seems that he jumped off a wagon and slipped under the hind wheel, which passed over the right leg below the knee. Earnest Nowlin brought him to town and Dr. Smith set the leg." (Lake County Examiner)
