FORD LUMBER COMPANY
near Lacomb
April 27, 1939: "April holds every promise of being the best month this year for the Ford Lumber company, located near Lacomb, and while the market at this time can only be described as fair, prospects for a better market and continued good business are bright, according to Claude Kesner, office manager.
Seventy-one in all were employed in March, and 70 now, Kesner said. This includes the entire force at work in the mills, in logging and and on the fleet of trucks. The crew has never numbered under 65 this year, and operations have been steady.
A new office and warehouse, 24 by 56 feet, is now being built adjoining the old office. It was started last week and it was expected it would be completed shortly." (The Lebanon Express)
