February 23, 1905: "The Springwater Mill Company that operates a sawmill and planer near town started up Tuesday after a few days shutdown while a new 2 horse gasoline engine was being installed to pump the water from the Clackamas for mill purposes. This company is well situated for doing a lumber manufacturing business. Near by the mill is enough fir timber to run it two years, and it is but a half a mile from the railroad. The company turns out fir lumber for all kinds of building purposes. Soon a larger force of men will be employed." (The Estacada News)
June 1, 1905: "The Springwater Mill Company has a contract to furnish the City of Portland with 75,000 feet of pavement blocks." (The Estacada News)
September 21, 1905: "NOTICE All persons knowing themselves indebted to the Springwater Mill Company will find their account at the Estacada State Bank. The mill has gone under a new management and our old books must be closed up and a new set opened. Springwater Mill Company. L. W. Van Dyke, Secretary." (The Estacada News)
November 16, 1905: "The Springwater Mill Company is intending sometime this winter to move its sawmill plant a short distance north from its present site into, a fine piece of timber said to contain upwards of 2,000,000 feet of lumber. The timber is the property of R. A. Stratton who purchased it of Will Looney. The land was not included in the transaction. The date for moving the mill has not yet been decided on. W. L. Van Dyke, manager of the mill company considers that it will take two years to clean out the lumber in their proposed new location." (The Estacada News)
December 7, 1905: "L. W. Van Dyke of Springwater Mill Company has been in California for a number of days buying additional machinery for their saw mill plant, which is intended, will be enlarged and improved when the change of location is made."

January 25, 1906: "Manager Van Dyke of the Springwater Mill Company, reports that his mill is turning out great quantities of lumber now-days. Last week they shipped four cars of lumber to the Hazelwild Lumber company on the Mt. Scott line. The company has twenty four men on its pay roll. This is more than any other mill in the country employs. The company is considering the proposition of putting in an electric light plant." (The Estacada News)
February 8, 1906: "The Springwater Mill Company has had a telephone line run from Estacada out to the mill, which will give the city office direct connection with the mill. Harmon Green and Charles Bronson are doing the line work for the Estacada Telegraph & telephone Company." (The Estacada News)
February 8, 1906: "Last week L. W. Van Dyke sold his interest in the Springwater Mill Company's sawmill to R. A. Stratton, cashier of the Estacada State Bank, and W. H. Kendle of Springwater. Mr. Van Dyke retires from the business in which he has engaged for several years. Mr. Stratton will have the management of the business in Estacada, and W. B. Hays will superintend operations at the mill" (The Estacada News)
