January 16, 1912: "The Falls City Lumber company has surveyors seeking a route for a railroad into the Cobb & Mitchell timber belt in the Siletz Basin. The main object for building such a railroad is the securing of 150,000,000 feet of burned timber for which the company has contracted. Numerous surveys have been made, but none was satisfactory." August 23, 1912: "A number of Bulgarians left Falls City yesterday. They had been at work on the railroad for the Falls City Lumber company and were thrown out of employment by the burning of the sawmill Monday evening.
There was a mass meeting of the citizens of Falls City at Selig's hall Wednesday evening for the purpose of determining what the citizens of the town would subscribe as a bonus to induce the Falls City Lumber company to build a new sawmill at Falls City near its planer site or some other suitable place bear by. Walter Nichols was elected chairman for the evening and Murton Ellis secretary. There were a number of enthusiastic speeches made and a soliciting committee of five appointed. In less than three hours there was a sum of $3060 subscribed in labor and cash.
A good many of the loggers of the Falls City Lumber company are tarrying at Falls City to see what the Falls City Lumber company are going to do about going ahead with the logging. It is thought by some that they will soon resume operations." (Statesman Journal)

February 13, 1913: "The Falls City Lumber Company's planing mill will be started February 17. It was closed down in November. New machinery has been installed, including a sawmill that will saw a log 80 feet in length, and the entire section will likely be ready for operation about April 15. A logging road has been built, and a logging camp established near Black Rock. Logs will be brought to the mill here over the Salem, Falls City & Western railroad.
What is known as Gerlinger's Dutch Creek sawmill is to be put in operation soon by Falls City millmen. W. Brown will erect a sawmill just outsides the city limits on the Trent place and Albert Teal & Co. will move its sawmill from J. B. Teal's ranch to J. D. Steven's place." (Daily Coast Mail)

September 6, 1913: "The Falls City Lumber Company has received two new donkey engines and has a force of men at work moving them to the line of the new Teal Creek logging railroad, which is in process of construction. One is the largest donkey in this section of Oregon. Its first use will be to furnish power to excavate a cut of 13 feet in the new road." (Morning Oregonian)
April 4, 1914: "A new waste burner will be built at the mill. Some day sawmill waste will be too valuable to be destroyed in this manner, but at present there is no other way to dispose of it."
"A train on the Teal Creek logging road, Thursday evening, was wrecked, three cars were derailed and bridge No. 9 was broken down. One workman was injured."
