SOUTH FORK LOGGING COMPANY
April 18, 1929: "J. H. Edwards, manager of the South Fork Logging company, is making arrangements to secure a locomotive crane and railroad train to haul logs out of the Salmonberry. His company has over 1,000,000 feet of logs in this river that were put in there by contractors. High water was depended upon to float the logs to tide water, but not enough water has been in the Salmonberry this season to move the logs to the South fork.
The last raise Mr. Edwards reports moved the logs below Enright where they jammed. Operations on the Salmonberry are to be started in the near future according to Mr. Edwards. The logs will be shipped to the Westwood mill." (Wheeler Reporter)
