September 13, 1900: "L. D. Robinson is grinding out shingles at Tamarack, having moved his mill last week to that point from Cottonwood." (Lake County Examiner)
August 14, 1902: “L. D. Robinson's shingle mill up in the mountains north of Thomas creek, caught fire from the smokestack last Friday at noon. Mrs. Robinson heard a crackling and sizzling noise while the mill men were at luncheon, and upon investigation, found the mill roof on fire. She gave the alarm and the flames were soon quenched.” (Lake County Examiner)
