DOERNBECHER MANUFACTURING CO.
Coalco
July 23, 1909: "The cookhouse, bunkhouse and four cottages belonging to the Doernbecher sawmill, at Coalco Siding, on the Southern Pacific, were entirely destroyed by fire Monday. The buildings and contents are a total loss. The cause of the fire is unknown, but is presumed to be due to a defective chimney in one of the cottages. There was no insurance, and the loss including the personal property of the inmates, will reach $7000." (Oregon City Courier)
January 8, 1955: "The Coalco sawmill of Doernbecher Manufacturing Co. has been bought by R. B. Reynolds and J. D. Coleman. Reynolds formerly was with the Condon Lumber Co. and Coleman recently sold his interest in the Kinzua Lumber Mills near Condon.
