BONNEY BROTHERS
Logan
February 24, 1905: "Bonney Bros. are installing a 20-horse power engine to run their shingle mill. They expect to make things hum this summer." (Oregon City Courier)
March 23, 1905: "There seems to be sort of an epidemic of sawmill fires in Clackamas county, and all of unknown origin. Following closely after the burning of Proctor & Beer's plant comes the news that the Bonney sawmill and Bonney Bros' shingle mill, near Logan, were both burned at 1 o'clock last Friday causing a loss of $6,000 with no insurance. Both mills will be rebuilt at once. W, H. Bonney, one of the principal losers in reporting his loss said that nothing was saved, 70,000 new shingles being included in the expensive blaze. The fire's origin is unknown, but Mr. Bonney thinks it may have been started by a spark from a fire in a slashing near the mill property." (The Estacada News)
November 15, 1906: "W. H. Bonney, who operates a sawmill west of here, has made a 13-horsew donkey engine that he will use for logging purposes. He has the machine so geared that he can get 52-horse power from it. The engine is of his own invention." (The Estacada News)
