JAWBONE LOGGING CAMP
Coos County - Bancroft
July 1920: "F. R. Jackson, J. A. Wilson and R. F. Johnson, operating under the name of Jawbone Logging Camp (P. O. address Bancroft), are supplying logs to the Coquille Lumber Co., Coquille. The logs are hauled two miles by motor truck to the Coquille River. 'We are operating a logging camp with horses, on Myrtle Creek,' said F. R. Jackson, Bancroft, superintendent. 'We expect to replace them with a donkey in the near future.' It is planned to send about 12,000,000 feet of logs down the Coquille River during the high water of the winter months." (The Timberman)
