July 24, 1913: “Mr. P.A. Jerome, who has a ranch near Dairy, was in the city yesterday on business. Mr. Jerome is installing a small saw mill to be used to saw the timber on his ranch and that of neighbors.” (The Klamath Falls Northwestern)
May 1, 1914: "A portable sawmill which can be quickly transported from place to place as the timber is cut away, has just been purchased by P.A. Jerome of Dairy. He purchased and outfit of the Farquhar type from the Baldwin Hardware company.
The outfit is being unloaded today. It will be taken to Pine Flat, this side of Dairy, and placed in operation, arrangements having been completed to deliver the lumber to Klamath Falls concerns.
The portable sawmill will cut 12,000 feet of lumber a day." (The Evening Herald)

May 30, 1914: “The new engine and machinery for the Jerome sawmill has arrived and will soon be installed. It will have a capacity of 25,000 feet of lumber a day.” (The Klamath Falls Northwestern)
February 28, 1918: "The sawmill previously owned by J. P. Jerome in the Swan Lake district has been purchased by the firm of DeArmond & Westfield, thru the agency of the Klamath Title Company. Mr. Jerome is now engaged in the lumber business at Susanville, Calif." (The Evening Herald)
