YAQUINA BAY RAILWAY & LUMBER CO.
May 3, 1918: "The roof of the Yaquina Bay Ry. & Lumber Co's. mill in this city caught fire just before the noon hour yesterday. The fire whistle was tooted a few times, but the mill crew with a line of hose had the fire out before the fire company arrived. The damage was confined to a hole burned in the roof." May 3, 1918: "Ed. Foster departed for Portland Monday morning. C. S. Patterson has taken his place as head sawyer in the Yaquina Bay Railway & Lumber Co's. mill." (Lincoln County Leader)
May 10, 1918: "The Yaquina Bay Railway & Lumber Co. has received two carloads of sawmill machinery this week, same being shipped here from Mistletoe, a small station on the S. P. line just below Ashland. This mill has a capacity of forty or fifty thousand feet per day, and will probably be located just back and up the slough from the present mill." (Lincoln County Leader)
