August 14, 1926: "Hood River.---C. M. Stott, 40, sawyer for the Mount Hood Milling company, lost his right arm above the elbow Saturday when he was caught in a cut-off saw. Fellow workmen applied a tourniquet and rushed him to the Hood River hospital, where the mangled limb was amputated." (The Advocate)
