September 3, 1936: "The main building of the Pine Products corporation was recently destroyed by fire. The planer and main office were saved. No official statement has been made of the damage and as yet no statement as to the rebuilding of the mill." (The Bend Bulletin)
September 26, 1940: "Word was received in Bend today that Lon Smith, employe of the Pine Products corporation in Prineville, was killed early this morning, in an accident in the Ochoco woods. The fatal accident was said to have occurred at a woods camp on Ochoco creek.
