May 21, 1907: "The Dallas Lumber Company has added two additional engines to their camp on the LaCreole Creek. The mill is cutting about 40,000 feet daily. This mill has about 250 to 300 million feet tributary to the mill and is able to use the LaCreole Creek very economically to float their logs." (Polk County Observer)
August 23, 1912: "Mill No. 1 of the Dallas City Lumber company, located two miles from Falls City, was destroyed by fire tonight. The loss is $60,000.

April 21, 1917: "Quite a number of men from the Dallas mill went to Balderee's camp Sunday to work in the log woods. They were short of men in the woods, consequently short of logs at the mill." (Falls City News)
