ROSE LUMBER COMPANY
Dover
November 2, 1928: "The Rose mill has been closed down for two or three weeks. Mr. Rose, who had his thigh broken on August 17, is still in the hospital with a weight on his foot, but is improving." (Clackamas County News)
March 8, 1929: "The Rose mill has been purchased by the Alder Creek Lumber company. It is not known yet just what the new owners intend to do with it. There is a rumor that the mill will be taken away, another that local timber will be purchased and the mill operated. The consideration is said to have been $1000.
Mark Pagh bought the 700,000 feet of timber remaining on the Hart 40 acre tract where Rose was logging when he went into bankruptcy. He has also purchased the donkey and expects to begin logging operations in this timber for Elmer Pagh. Mark expects to run his mill until fall, at least." (Clackamas County News)
