COQUILLE PLYWOOD, INC.
Coquille
April 19, 1952: "The first log was put through the new Coquille Plywood, Inc., plant Friday afternoon, and plans call for the plant to start Wednesday or Thursday on regular production.
It is expected that the first carload of plywood will be shipped the middle of the following week.
Several bugs were found in the plant operation as the first log was pulled from the mill pond, cleaned and barked and then peeled. Plans call for another experimental run Monday. Then, if no trouble is found, the plant will go into production Wednesday, using only a cold press at first. A hot press will be added later." (The World)
