November 8, 1912: “Mr. Ed Sawyer, who has spent the last several months at Sawyer Bros. Sawmill on Brush Creek for the benefit of his health, has returned to his home on the South Side greatly improved.” (The Brownsville Times)
August 15, 1913: “S. B. Sawyer informs THE TIMES that Sawyer Bros. Have about completed their work of sawing lumber at their mill on Brush Creek and that the mill will soon be closed down for good. They moved their families back to Brownsville from the mill this week.” (The Brownsville Times)
