March 3, 1921: "The L. B. Menefee Lumber company of Portland is moving its tie mill from Blodgett to Wendling. The mill has been operating at Blodgett for three years and has finished the block of timber secured in that vicinity.
The company has bought a large tract of timber land near Wendling and the Blodgett mill will be their second tie mill at Wendling. Later they may put in a third mill there, according to a representative of the company who was in Albany today." (The Capital Journal)
