February 8, 1923: "A new industry is being inaugurated in Estacada, which will give employment to a number of men. Charles Ross who owns a body of timber in Dodge, where he has a sawmill, has leased the old Estacada lumber yard from the Reed estate, and is setting up a planing mill for his lumber. It will be run by electric power and used for all kinds of lumber." (Eastern Clackamas News)
February 19, 1925: "The planing mill owned by Mrs. C. L. Ross commenced operations last week and it is understood that as soon as the several mills near Estacada begin getting out material this mill be kept in operation most of the time." (Eastern Clackamas News)
September 14, 1928: "The planer used for some time at the C. L. Ross mill was taken out and moved to other quarters last week." (Clackamas County News)
