TEMPLE MILLS
Berlin area
August 11, 1916: “The lumber industry is being revived in Eastern Linn county this summer, and all the small sawmills in the foothills and mountains are running to capacity. Twenty eight teams are engaged in hauling lumber from the Temple mills above Berlin, 15 miles east of Lebanon, to this city for shipment by the Lebanon Lumber Company to the outside market.
After the burning of the plant of the Lebanon Lumber Company in this city, that company entered into a contract with the Temple mill to cut its timber near Berlin, where about half a million feet are being cut each month. There are six other mills in this vicinity now running full time.---Oregonian.” (The Brownsville Times)
