DAHLGREN MILL

July 6, 1950: "A fire completely destroyed the Dahlgren mill on the Bridgeview-Takilma road last Sunday morning. The watchman discovered the blaze at the center of the mill about 5 a.m. The cause was undetermined.
In addition to the mill and machinery, two jacks of lumber were burned. Two caterpillars parked nearby were saved from the flames in the nick of time.
The mill was partially covered by insurance, and owner Dahlgren, immediately announced his intention to rebuild as soon as possible. He is using a small portable mill in the meantime." (Illinois Valley News)

March 22, 1951: "Charles Carver was very seriously injured Monday morning March 19, while working at Dahlgren's mill. He was caught in the conveyor, which tore his clothing to shreds.
He was immediately rushed to the Grants Pass hospital, where it was found that he was suffering from a badly bruised body, a double compound fracture of the left leg, shoulder injuries and a lacerated face." (Illinois Valley news)

August 23, 1951: "Ed Hooker, employed by the Dahlgren Lumber Company, cut his leg when he fell against a pond saw last week. Several stitches were taken and the injury is healing nicely." (Illinois Valley News)
