October 4, 1945: "Lafayette Earle LaMarr, 47, was killed in a logging accident at the Triangle Lake Lumber company's operations, Wednesday afternoon.
LaMarr was bucking logs and was working alone at the time the accident happened, Coroner Phil Bartholomew's report states. LaMarr was not missed by the crew until the truck was ready to take the men home from the day's work. The group went to look for the missing man and found his body lodged between two logs, the coroner stating death apparently had come instantly when the man was thrown by a rolling log from which he was working and pinned against another log." (The Register-Guard)
