July 22, 1937: "A. Stephensen of Selma, underwent a major operation in the Josephine General hospital last Saturday morning for internal injuries received last Wednesday at the Krauss Brothers sawmill where he is employed. Mr. Stephensen was helping load a sawed timber on a truck and did not turn loose of it with the others was the cause of the accident." (Illinois Valley News)

June 12, 1941: "Fritz Krauss of Selma fractured his left wrist Monday in a mill accident at the Krauss mill at Selma. Mr. Krauss is not at all serious and is home now." (Illinois Valley News)
February 12, 1942: "Roland Tresham had a badly mangled finger when he caught it in the main saw at Krauss Bros. mill in Selma last Tuesday." (Illinois Valley News)
September 6, 1945: "During the wind storm Monday evening, fire blown from the trash burner at the Krauss mill set the woods afire near the mill, causing a lot of excitement. The people of the community hurried to the fire and soon had it under control, saving the mill and other property nearby." (Illinois Valley News)
