JOHNSON & LAUR'S SAWMILL
Weston Mountain
November 13, 1903: "Johnson & Laur's sawmill on Weston mountain, about 13 miles east of this city, was totally destroyed by fire Friday night, together with about 100,000 feet of lumber in the yard. About 50,000 feet of lumber was saved. The mill was a small but profitable one, having a daily capacity of 8,000 feet, and was equipped last spring with new machinery. The loss is in the neighborhood of $3000. The owners will rebuild, and next spring will be ready to resume operations.---Weston Leader." (The Athena Press)
