WEST OREGON LUMBER COMPANY
Linnton
December 15, 1911: “Fire destroyed the plant of the West Oregon lumber company at Linnton, near Portland, causing a loss of $150,000, about half of which was covered by insurance. The mill will be rebuilt at once.” (The Yoncalla Times)
April 7, 1912: "The big plant of the West Oregon Lumber Company at Linnton, which was almost entirely destroyed by fire last winter, is being rebuilt and will be opened about May 1. All the buildings have been completed and most of the machinery has been installed. In connection with the plant will be a large planing mill. The sawmill will have a 10-hour capacity of 100,000 feet. E. D. Kingsley, manager of the company, said yesterday that the plant will be a great improvement over the old mill and will have the latest wood-working machinery in all departments."
