LORENZ LUMBER COMPANY
near Bonanza
June 14, 1924: "The Lorenz saw mill beyond Bonanza burned yesterday afternoon, the first report of the fire reaching this city about 3 o'clock.
The report stated that the mill was burning and Lorenz sent instructions from here to get a number of men from Bonanza and he left at once for the mill.
There are several thousand feet of lumber piled near the mill but the general direction of the wind and location of these lumber piles makes it probable that, with a good fire-fighting force, they will be saved.
The mill has not been running this year, but when operated has a capacity of about 30,000 feet per day and employes 25 to 30 men.
No information as to manner in which the fire started has been received in Klamath Falls." (The Klamath News)

June 21, 1924: "The sawdust pile at the Lorenz mill near Bonanza burned Friday causing the report that the mill burned. A few carloads of men arrived in time to prevent the spread of the fire to the mill. Had the fire fighters arrived about a half hour later the mill would also have burned." (The Klamath News)
