March 24, 1950: "William A. Spangler has disposed of his interest in the Palmerton Lumber company here, officials of the company announced yesterday afternoon.
He sold his one-third interest in the firm to the remaining partners, Loren Palmerton and Don A. Weller, the latter of Chicago. Details of the transfer were not made public.
Spangler will remain with the company until May 1, and has not announced any future plans.
He has been affiliated with Palmerton for the past 10 years.
Spangler is also a member of the Oregon liquor control commission, president of the Klamath Falls Gems Baseball club and an officer of the Far West baseball league.
The Palmerton company operates the Klamath Lake moulding company and sawmill." (Herald and News)

April 13, 1950: "The Briggs company, logging for Palmerton lumber company, was supposed to start work last week on some cutover land acquired from Pelican Bay but was prevented by snow. It will be late in May or early in June before that company gets into the Umpqua forest back of Diamond lake." (Herald and News)
