April 19, 1950: "Puckett and Scherer of Keno was high bidder for a stand of O & C timber located on Jenny creek, bidding a peak $33 a thousand board feet for Ponderosa pine.
The sale was conducted by oral auction at Medford.
Some 6,250,000 board feet of timber was included in the stand and there were 75 bids made during the auction by the Magnolia Timber company, Ellingson Lumber company, Klamath Basin Pine Mills and Weyerhaeuser Timber company in addition to Puckett and Scherer. The bidding resulted in a price 94 per cent above appraisal price of the Jenny creek timber.
The winning bid included $32.75 for sugar pine, $20.75 for Douglas fir and $2.50 for white fir and incense cedar." (Herald and News)
