GLENDALE STUD COMPANY
Glendale
December 19, 1957: "A new stud mill employing seven or eight men will open in Glendale about the middle of January, according to Mrs. Gerald Fox, News-Review correspondent.
Co-partners in the enterprise are Fred Beerli and bill La Prath, formerly employes of the Dollar-Patterson firm which closed down recently.
The new mill, which will be called the Glendale Stud Co., will be located on ground purchased from Douglas Dollar and formerly occupied by the Glendale Planing Mill. The site is on Molly Street across from Day's Supply Store in Glendale.
Buildings already on the property will be utilized. The grounds are now being cleared and machinery is being brought in. Expected capacity of the mill will be about 30,000 board feet per day on a one shift basis.
The studs will be cut from plywood core purchased from the Dollar Plywood plant and hauled to the site by Earl Buenger of Glendale.
According to La Prath, all the men needed for the operation have been hired." (The News-Review)
