August 25, 1922: "Work on the third unit of the Oregon Pulp and Paper company's plant in Salem which will give to this city the only bond paper mill on the Pacific coast and add in the neighborhood of 75 men to the payroll of the company's local plant, was started yesterday.
With the completion of the new unit, which with its equipment will represent an investment of $300,000 and bring the total investment in the mill to approximately $3,000,000, actual commercial production of sulphite bond paper will commence on a large scale." (Oregon City Enterprise)
