September 5, 1930: "The Kenton shingle mill plant here was destroyed by late Wednesday at an estimated loss of $80,000.
The fire was said to have started when a spark flew into some inflammable waste material.
The plant had been in operation for five years. H. W. Tievis, owner and operator of the mill, announced that he would immediately start reconstruction work." (The Klamath News)
