May 24, 1910: "S. S. Aiken is planning to place his sawmill near Prospect in operation soon. No less than five new buildings are planned for Prospect and are awaiting lumber from the mill." (Medford Mail Tribune)
January 2, 1926: "Harry Aiken, 35, sawmill owner of Prospect, who was seriously wounded when a revolver fell from his pocket and exploded on the running board of his car on the Crater Lake highway last Monday night, died at a local hospital here New Year's Eve. The bullet hit Aiken near the hip and plowed upward two feet lodging so near the heart that an operation for removal was impossible." (Roseburg News-Review)
April 25, 1930: "B. & H. Moulding company of Stockton, Cal., has been shipping the lumber from the Aiken sawmill for the past week." (Medford Mail Tribune)
September 4, 1930: "Loss of the old Aiken sawmill, destroyed by fire recently, was only partially covered by insurance. The mill was owned by Mrs. Frances Pearson." (Medford Mail Tribune)
