BENTON COUNTY LUMBER COMPANY
June 4, 1903: "The Benton County Lumber Company has completed a flume for the transportation of lumber from its sawmill in the woods on Greasy creek to Philomath on the line of the Corvallis & Eastern Railroad. The length of the flume is 6 3/4 miles, and its capacity is 25,000 feet of lumber per hour." (Clackamas County Record)
September 22, 1903: "J. B. Irvine, who has had charge of the Benton County Lumber Company's yard in this city has been transferred to Philomath, and will take the place of Samuel Ewing, who henceforth will have charge of the logging operations at the mill.
The Benton County Lumber Company have sold their lumber yard near the Southern Pacific depot to E. W. Strong, of the Corvallis Sawmill. The Benton County Lumber Company will still deliver lumber to customers in carload lots and will maintain an office in Corvallis." (Corvallis Gazette)
