May 2, 1922: "The Pacific Shingle company, of Kalama, Washington, purchased the shingle mill at Siltcoos Lake, a few weeks ago, and are now logging a small tract of cedar timber which they purchased from the Siuslaw forest. The company expects to make additional purchases of the government, as there is a large amount of cedar adjacent to the lake, and to operate their mill there for a number of years." September 11, 1924: “Sheriff F. E. Taylor was in from Eugene last Saturday and sold some equipment of the Pacific Shingle Co. mill at Siltcoos. It is said that the remainder of the plant will be offered for sale next Saturday at Eugene.” (The Siuslaw News)
October 2, 1924: “The Pacific Shingle Co.'s plant on Siltcoos lake was bid in at sheriff's sale by A. C. Dixon and Richard Smith at $11,434.” (The Siuslaw News)
