CONGER BROTHERS SHINGLE MILL
Josephine County - Wilderville
July 30, 1903: "One of the latest of the milling enterprises of Josephine county is the shingle mill of Conger Bros. on Cheney creek about two miles from Wilderville. The owners have recently purchased a new boiler and engine which they have set up on the ground, and the machinery is all in place. It is expected that sawing operations will begin this week. The mill has a capacity of 40,000 shingles per day and its equipment of machinery is first class and complete. Conger Bros. have a fine body of sugar pine and other timber and will be able to turn out a first class article in quantity. Other equipment will be installed in the near future and the mill will be quite an important addition to many lumber enterprises in this county." (Rogue River Courier)
May 12, 1905: "Martin Conger has moved his family and his sawmill down on Rogue river to a location just below Shan creek." (Weekly Rogue River Courier)
