LAKESIDE LUMBER COMPANY
Klamath County - Klamath Falls
May 22, 1920: "The Lakeside Lumber company has decided to build in this city a planing mill that will be second to none on the coast. The plans for this enterprise have been under consideration by the Lakeside company ever since it entered this field through the purchase of the plant of J. F. Goeller & Son.
A contract was entered into between the company and a milling machinery concern for the complete equipment. This will include a 6 x 30 S. A. Wood & Co. fast speed planer and matcher; one 4 x 9 Wood & Co. fast speed moulder; one Marshon band resaw; together with all of the other machinery and motors needed to create a plant with a capacity of about 100,000 feet a day.
The plant is to be located on the 2 1/2 acre tract owned by the company on Sixth street. The initial outlay will be in excess of $50,000 and this is to be added to as the business conditions demand, as it is the intention of the company to install an elaborate system of dry kilns."
